It remained on Freedom Hosting until a security breach in March 2014 led to its redirection to Doxbin. This event prompted the proliferation of mirror sites to enhance its resilience against frequent downtimes. The site faced a significant setback during Operation Onymous in November 2014 when its Bulgarian host was compromised by law enforcement, culminating in a shutdown message from authorities.

Currently, multiple .onion sites host mirrors of the Hidden Wiki, some of which endeavor to omit links to abusive content. Considering the Hidden Wiki’s ties to unlawful activities, it is crucial for users to navigate with caution and discernment.
